Hi,

I've been trying to synchronze a ppt with an audio file. I think this is posible just by selecting the "Java audio" type which (if I am not wrong) only supports ogg files. So I uploaded a ogg file and selected it. I checked and the file is correctly uploaded to the server /moodledata/course_id/file.ogg

Everything seems to work properly but when I want to view the synchronitzation a java "error reading data" shows up. The file can not be found
Are the files uploaded to a wrong location or am I doing something wrong? both?

Hello, a few thoughts for you :

1) You'll need to convert your ppt file into a flash file using OpenOffice (or some other flash converter). ppt files won't work as is.

2) When you entered the URL of the .ogg file, did you 'choose' the file with the Moodle file browser or just type in the address ? If you typed it in, try using the chooser instead, this will ensure the URL is correct.

3) Unless you have some specific reason to want to use java/ogg vorbis, i'd recommend using a different plugin. Java audio is the 'least functional' plugin supported by AutoView, it exists more as an 'if all else fails' backup option. The other plugin types can all play audio files if the audio is converted into a suitable file format.

4) There is a minor bug in the java audio player which will be corrected in the next release. However, from the error message you quote, this probably isn't the cause of your problem.

5) You'll need to enter the time indexes manually for the Java audio player.
