Internet Explorer 6 Popup Problems

Hi All,

I'm currently testing the AutoTrain plugin for Moodle Version 2007072301, everything works fine except.....

When I use a WMV file and view the presentation in IE6 it generates hundreds of popups with the following error on them, "Sorry, the requested file could not be found" and it seems to be looking for, "file.php/264/videos/event.htm?8".

There is also a javascript error on the page, I dont know whether this is related or not.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you get around it?

Any help will be much appreciated!

Cheers

Nick

That's very odd, there is no file event.htm in the AutoView system. The only thing I can think of is that the WMV file you are using has some event triggers embedded in it which are trying to load this file. Was this video taken from some other pre-processed presentation ? If it was and there was a file called event.htm in that presentation then this is probably the problem. You'll need to use the windows media file editor to delete all of the event triggers from the WMV file.

Otherwise, the javascript error might shed some light on the problem if you can cut and paste it. If you are able to install the Microsoft Script Debugger, that will give a more meaningful Javascript error, the ones IE provides by default are not very useful. However AutoView does occasionally generate Javascript errors due to components not being ready when expected during loading, so not all JavaScript errors are critical.

Ah!!! Thanks so much Tim! That's sorted it, the WMVs I was using had already been used in a pre-processed presentation - i downloaded the windows media editor and removed the event triggers and now it works a treat!!

Thanks again!
