Problem with editing (empty page, no buttons)

I installed AutoView on 1.9. Everything was fine, I was in /admin after copying the files into directory. But when I try to create a presentation (in editing mode screen) I see just a page with frames, without any buttons.

Could you help me?

(I've tried the 2010112201 and 2010100802 release.)

Which 1.9.x version of Moodle are you using?

What server OS/webserver are you running?

Are there any PHP errors in your server log?

If you can't see any errors in the log (or can't access it), try going to Server>Debugging in the Moodle site administration. Set the "debug messages" drop down to "ALL" and make sure "Display debug messages" is ticked. Then re-visit an AutoView presentation and check for any error messages in the frames (and/or paste them here).

Also, if you are using FireFox, please try opening and clearing the error console (Tools>Error Console) before clicking on an AutoView presentation link. Again, paste any errors here.

- The are some errors in server log: File does not exist: .../theme/simplicity/images/body.png. But I think it's nothing important. Is it?

In Firefox error console there is warning (in my translation): declaration was expected, but found "*" (...) in: .../theme/standard/styles.php verse: 8688.

Error massages in the AutoView presentation frames are:

Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml() [xsltprocessor.transformtoxml]: runtime error: file .../mod/autoview/templates/autoview.xsl line 52 element comment in .../mod/autoview/avphplib/avlib.php on line 38

Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml() [xsltprocessor.transformtoxml]: xsl:comment : '--' or ending '-' not allowed in comment in .../mod/autoview/avphplib/avlib.php on line 38

The XSLTProcessor warning isn't normal, if this is failing then that would explain the blank page.

It would seem that putting a -- (double hyphen/dash) into any of the parameters that get included when the XSL is processed can cause this error.

Do any of the following contain a -- on your server?

1) Your Name as it appears in your Moodle
2) The server URL

If this is the problem, i'll update the AutoView code to fix this in the next release version.

Yes, my server URL contains --. The part of URL is expression "xn--bdkowski-neb" which stands for "będkowski". It's the way of coding diacritics as I think.

So, I'll wait for update. :)

I've added a fix which should cure the double hyphen problem in the XSL parameters, try replacing your avphplib/avlib.php with the version located here:
